Wildlife
Chronicling the wonders of the living beings we share our world with is an exciting and humbling endeavour. I try to capture beauty, awe, fear, fascination, fun and pure calm; and the world of the wild offers these up in ways that are utterly unique. Instead of transferring human emotions or characteristics onto the subjects I photograph, I try to evoke those emotions in the human viewers. The world is vast and wonderful, and joy can be found in the most unexpected places.
SAFARI
The African Bush is a special place. The proud creatures we share this planet with roam free across the rolling plains and sparse scrub. These iconic animals evoke primordial instincts, a memory of ancestral wilderness, a sense of oneness with the earth. I will always be grateful to my first employer, the Last Wilderness for the opportunity to explore this world. It first put a camera way out of my league into my inexperienced hands, and ignited in me a lasting curiosity for all things photographic, and a lasting love for all things wild.
Japan
The country that is my second home is known widely for its unique cultural attractions, but I find the raw beauty of its natural wonders to be just intriguing.
Tigers
The most majestic, my first entry point into wildlife, the keystone species, the ember burning bright in the forests of the night. There’s very little I can say that hasn’t been said better already. Just - look!
